NJ Weather shared details about the insane blizzard that swept across the state last night. They shared that this most recent storm is "one of the largest snowstorms to hit New Jersey in 30 years." While it may look like a stunning winter wonderland, it did not bring peace and joy with it.
Thousands of people across the state lost power Sunday evening as a result of the storm. Luckily, officials were prepared. They were aware of the storm's approach and declared a state of emergency before the storm hit. Additionally, roads were salted prior to the snow, and plow trucks were on standby. One thing I will say about my home state - they know how to handle some snow.
As a response to the insane blizzard, officials have asked New Jersey residents to stay off the roads. Unless you absolutely need to travel, officials recommend staying off the road Sunday through Monday. Although plow trucks have been working tirelessly to keep the roads clear for all those who need to go out, such as essential workers.
