Mom Killed by Falling Tree Branch After Completing Cancer Treatment

A mom has sadly died after a falling tree branch killed her. The incident happened in Maine. To make a sad situation even more tragic, she passed away shortly after finishing cancer treatment.

Amy Tatlock passed away at 49 on July 16. A tree branch fell on her car during a storm, crushing the mom inside. According to local news outlet WABI, Tatlock had just finished cancer treatment months earlier.

Her son, Christian, remembered his mom as one of the strongest and toughest people he knew. Christian said that it would have to have been something crazy to take out his mom. She had been "a light in so many lives" for both her family and also the community.

"She battled cancer and defeated it last year in October, so only something as crazy and as questionable as this could take her out," he said. "She wasn't going down without a fight. That woman — she was the strongest woman I knew."

Apparently, she also volunteered as a bus driver and was a troop leader for the Girl Scouts. He will remember her fighting spirit.

"Remember her as the giving, loving, courageous mother, grandma, friend, sister, aunt — everything that she was — instead of the tragedy," he said. "I want everyone to remember her and her heart."

Meanwhile, Amy's husband, Andrew Tatlock, is still struggling with the loss of his wife. He said the news of her death just hasn't hit him.

"I feel very numb. We look around the house, and you feel like she's gonna walk in, but we know she's not going to," he told WABI. "I will be thinking about her every day."

Amy's daughter, Michaela Tatlock, also wrote a tribute to her mom as well.

"The love and support we've been shown is an overwhelming one and I thank everyone that reached out. I just need time to grieve the loss of my mother and my daughter's grandmother at this time," she said.
