The Michigan DNR Thwarted a Fish Poacher's Unicycle Getaway Attempt

This has to be the strangest getaway any poacher has ever attempted.

The Michigan DNR had a most unusual bust of a man who poached some bass out of season this week. That's because the poacher tried to make his getaway on a unicycle!

Mlive.com reports officers were tipped off to a man who was not only poaching bass out of season, but was also selling them around Battle Creek. Sometimes the poachers make things easy on officers. The tipster also let officers know the man would be riding the extremely conspicuous unicycle.

So even when officers didn't find the man at the reported scene of the crime, it wasn't hard for a state policeman to spot him and relay the poaching suspect's location. The DNR caught up to him a few blocks later with three bass taken out of season in his possession.

As always seems to be the case, the man didn't have a fishing license either. He also admitted to officers he had sold bass before. Mlive.com reports the officers took unspecified enforcement action in the case.

Fish and wildlife authorities are often underfunded and understaffed. It has to be nice when the poachers make themselves easy to find.
