MasterClass Offering Extensive Wilderness Survival Course With U.S. Air Force Vet Jessie Krebs

MasterClass is offering an advanced course on wilderness survival.

If you spend any amount of time in the outdoors, it helps to know some basic wilderness survival skills. Because one never knows when they are going to need them. Having these skills can save your life in an emergency.

Now, you can learn these skills from an expert thanks to the streaming platform MasterClass. They are offering a new course being taught by Jessie Krebs, a former specialist for the U.S. Air Force SERE (survival, evasion, resistance, and escape). She has served as a technical consultant for National Geographic and has also worked as a wilderness guide. Krebs is also the founder of the SERE training school in Colorado and brings 30 years of experience to the table.

Krebs' class will cover five basic needs of survival. Topics covered will include map and compass reading, fire building, constructing a survival kit, and the use of typical survival tools.

"As a former U.S. Air Force survival, evasion, resistance and escape specialist, Jessie trained soldiers how to survive in the world's most dangerous places," MasterClass CEO and founder David Rogier said in a press release. "In this class, she teaches you how to survive. This class may one day save your life."

Because survival is as much mental as it is physical, Krebs will also explain things like staying calm. Most importantly, how to break through a strike of adrenaline when a sense of fear starts creeping in. Focus and awareness will be vital topics covered by the class. She also hopes to dispel some of the fears of the world's wild places.

"The wilderness has everything we need to exist, or we wouldn't be here at this moment," Krebs said in a press release. "In my class, I want to encourage members to let Mother Nature reach out her hand so that you can utilize what she has to offer. You'll realize you're more capable than you ever thought you were."
