Killer Elephant Kills Four Members of One Family Across 14 Years

One elephant has been responsible for the deaths of four members of a family across 14 years. Apparently, elephants hold grudges and never forget. One elephant in has been stalking Shanichara Bote for 14 years.

It has killed four members of his family and found them miles away. In 2012, an elephant trampled Bote's parents to death near Chitwan National Park. According to  Kathmandu Post, the family fled nine miles away for safety. Sadly, the elephant named Dhurbe tracked them down 14 years later.

"We believed that moving across the major rivers would keep us safe," Bote told the Kathmandu Post. "But after all these years, the exact same elephant found us again, raided our home and took my daughter-in-law and my little grandson. There is nowhere left for us to run."

Elephant Kills Family

It's not the first time that the elephant has struck terror. Dhurbe is a killer among animals. Since 2010, it has reportedly killed more than two dozen people in the region. Residents have long lived in terror of this killer animal with seemingly no stop to its blood shed over the years.

"Prior to this tragic incident, Dhurbe had officially claimed 23 human lives," said Abinash Thapa Magar, a rep for Chitwan National Park. "With these latest two casualties in Jagatpur, the confirmed number of fatalities attributed to this single elephant has now risen to 25."

Officials have tried to turn to technology to try to track down the animal. But that appears to not have been entirely successful.

"We have been utilizing a satellite tracking collar to monitor the movements of this highly aggressive male elephant," Magar added. "Our data logs show that this location coordinates were pinned directly around the perimeter of the incident site on [July 4]."

Meanwhile, in the early 2010s, 93 soldiers tried to kill Dhurbe. This came after the elephant was involved in a 2012 attack. However, they only shot the animal twice. It managed to escape to continue its bloodshed and wraith.
