The Snake River coughs up a 30-inch-plus fish to set new record.
A Pocatello angler holds the new title of largest released rainbow trout in the state of Idaho.
David Raisch was fly fishing the Snake River March 22 when he hooked into the 30.5-inch trout. That fish would eclipse the previous record of 29.3 inches from October 2017, which coincidentally came from the Snake River as well.
After submitting his catch to the Idaho Fish and Game's catch-and-release records, his trophy rainbow trout was deemed the new title holder.
Idaho began their catch-and-release program in 2016.
