Performance is an integral part of all Porsche vehicles, and the Mission E follows suit.
Of course, we can't say we're surprised to learn that the Mission E is being engineered to be a beast on the street.
But we were intrigued to see just what the performance ratings were considering it's a fully electric car—Porsche's first, in fact.
According to Porsche, the Mission E will be offered in three trim levels. We're assuming it will follow the trim layout of Porsche's other models: Carrera, Carrera S, and Turbo.
Power ratings for this electric sportscar are currently slated at 402 horsepower, 536 horsepower, and 670 horsepower, respectively.
The battery is conveniently laid throughout the underbody. This placement not only creates more space in the cabin, but it also lowers the car's center of gravity, enhancing overall driving dynamics.
So, what does the charging situation look like?

In a recent interview with Uwe Michael, the Head of the Electric/Electronics Development at Porsche, he comments, "There are two key challenges in this respect: the power and performance of e-vehicles and, following on from this, the infrastructure. Customers have two main concerns in this regard, namely inadequate ranges and long charging times."
In short, Porsche is setting out to double the capacity of the high-voltage system from 400 V to 800 V.
This equates to 300 miles on a full battery charge.
In addition to that, the brand is also planning on implementing "intelligent wall boxes". Michael states, "We call them intelligent because you can use an app with a timer to select charging times when power is cheap. You can also heat or cool the passenger compartment of your vehicle as appropriate for the weather before setting off."
The Porsche Mission E is said to be ready by the end of the decade, with rollout in 2019 and a 2020 model year.
