Video: Fascinating Time-Lapse of What Happens in a Turkey Nest

Have you ever wondered what a turkey's nesting process looks like?

This video shows it all: the bird nesting, egg rotating, egg hatching and the babies leaving the nest.

It's kind of like watching a chick in an incubator, except the birds are giant.

This is what the owner of the video had to say,

This video was shot on my property. The incubation time for turkey eggs is 28 days. Watch how the hen rotates the eggs. This is done once a day and is real treat to see. Once the eggs hatch, the mother leaves the nest within 12 to 24 hours and the little chicks following behind. She does not feed them and they must learn to forage on their own right away.

It's not too often you get to see wild turkeys during the whole nesting process. There's a lot to be learned from this educational video.
