Family's Dogs Poisoned With Meth-Laced Hot Dogs

A family says their dogs were poisoned after someone gave them meth-laced hot dogs. The incident happened outside their home in Colorado.

According to WYMT, Jillian Frank says her mother found two hot dogs with a crystal-like substance on the patio of her home. Police tested the substance, which tested positive for meth. Authorities believe that someone targeted the family's dogs.

"She has no enemies. She doesn't have a neighborhood conflict. We just assumed this was a random act of animal cruelty," Jillian told WYMT. "Fortunately, she found them before her dogs did."

But fast forward a month later, and Jillian's dog Gable ate another meth-laced hot dog in the yard. The animal tested positive for meth.

"He won't stop circling — he won't stop panting. He won't lay down," Jillian told the outlet. It took 14 hours in a critical care unit for the animal to recover. "He ended up being ok, but there is no antidote. All you can do is offer supportive care like fluids and sedatives while they ride out the high, and hope they did not ingest a lethal amount."

Fast forward to March, and Jillian's sister's dogs ended up eating more meth-laced hot dogs.

"She let her dogs out of her car in the front yard for about two minutes while they loaded up to spend the day at Turquoise Lake. We would later see on the ring camera my sister's dog discreetly eat something right next to the driveway," Jillian said.

"I notice Murray just spinning in circles and foaming at the mouth," Jillian's sister, Annalyn Frank, told WYMT. "I knew him really well, so I knew something was not right. They do a urinary analysis, and it's confirmed he has meth and MDMA in his system."

Right now the investigation is ongoing. The family doesn't know why they are being targeted with no suspects currently.
