Drunk Passenger Becomes So Belligerent That Plane Has To Stop On Tarmac

The more I hear about drunken passengers on planes, the more I begin to agree with the notion that alcohol should not be served on them. Yet again, we have a story of a flight being disrupted because of one individual's belligerent nature. This time, the drunk passenger became such an issue that the plane had to stop in the middle of the tarmac.

A Ryanair flight was just trying to travel across Spain when one traveler had something different in mind. We all know how things go before takeoff. They ask you to place your seat in the upright position, put up your tray table, stow all bags, and put all electronics in airplane mode. Well, one passenger did not get the memo. Rather than following the rules, the NY Post shared that the drunk passenger refused to turn off his phone. Additionally, he was still having a conversation on that phone as the plane pulled out onto the tarmac.

Not only was he having a conversation, but the outlet claims that he was "shouting" and "talking loudly on his phone." Therefore, not only was he breaking the rules, but he was causing a disturbance to others. After several passengers noticed the commotion, the flight crew decided to get involved. Unfortunately for them, this drunk passenger had no intention of listening to them either. Despite their best efforts, they could not get this man to stop talking loudly on his phone.

Left with no other alternative, the pilot acted accordingly. The pilot decided to stop the aircraft in the middle of the tarmac. Afterward, chaos ensued.

Chaos Ensued After Pilot's Bold Choice

Once the aircraft was stopped, the flight crew went back over to the man and attempted to work with him. However, the drunk passenger was beyond reason. He refused to listen and even began to stand and beat his hands on the seat. Rather than allow the flight crew to continue to be berated by him, the pilot made the decision to turn around. The pilot made a U-turn and headed back to the airport. There, police officers were called to assist with the rowdy passenger.

After this entire episode, all of the people on board were on edge. Luckily, despite having to deal with the drunk passenger, the plane took off two hours after it was scheduled.
