Caught on Video: Wind Knocking Over Student at University of Kentucky

We've all seen animals do it, but have you ever seen the wind knock over a person?

A video of a University of Kentucky student getting knocked over by a strong gust of wind amid a storm has gone viral this week. Although it's credited to one Ethan Ferry, it was circulated on Twitter by the Kentucky Kernel on April 2.

In the caption, the student newspaper explained that the fall was filmed on campus near the Patterson Office Tower. However, the student who fell was not identified and his or her condition is unknown.

On April 2, central Kentucky was hammered by multiple storms throughout the day and 11 tornadoes even touched down. The storms were so bad that the state governor issued a state of emergency. According to a statement by the governor's office, the storm spread across nine counties and caused more than 32,000 power outages. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were linked to storm damage.

The National Weather Service classified Tuesday's storm as an EF-1 Tornado, meaning it's a one on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. In that category, the winds are as fast as 86 to 110 mile per hour. EF-1 winds are capable of knocking down students and damaging small structures like small barns or outbuildings.

The federal Storm Prediction Center issued severe weather warnings for the remainder of the week in Kentucky and neighboring states.
