Watch: Bull Moose Gives Bowhunter a Perfect Shot

David Hunter gets the shot of a lifetime when a bull moose crashes through the brush next to him.

No matter what species of animals you prefer to hunt or which weapon you choose to use, each form of hunting brings with it its own unique experience. Bowhunting, however, brings a little more to the table than most firearm hunts. Because of the shorter range of bows, be they compound bows, long bows, or a homemade primitive bow, bowhunting requires you to get up close and personal with your chosen animal. You have to closely study an animal's habitat and territory and, if they're elk or moose, often call them in closer to you.

The extra challenge and the opportunity to be so close to an animal make bowhunting one of the most rewarding ways to harvest an animal.

David Hunter, a bowhunter with a large YouTube channel, had the experience, and the shot, of a lifetime while bowhunting moose in 2016. In the video he posted of the hunt, Hunter gets eerily up close and personal with a massive bull moose, creating an all-or-nothing atmosphere to an already exhilarating hunt.

If this doesn't make you want to try your hand at archery season, bowhunting simply isn't for you.

It simply does not get much more exciting than a giant bull moose crashing through the dense brush next to you, sounding more like the T-Rex from Jurassic Park than a member of the deer family. We got an adrenaline rush just from watching this, we can only imagine what it was like for Hunter and his hunting partner. The only thing to make such a situation even better? Placing a perfect shot just like Hunter does.

As one commenter on the video wrote, "It's always an awesome feeling when you call in a big bull moose, like what we['ve] just seen. That takes a lot of patience."
