What Disney Rides Are Closed For 2026?

Whether it is just refurbishment or an all-out ride swap, Disney is always closing down something. Now, these Disney rides will be closed for the remainder of 2026, and some for even longer. First up, we have Animal Kingdom's Dinosaur. While I enjoyed this ride, I have to admit that I am not surprised that it is among the rides to be closing. Compared to some of the newer rides, Dinosaur was a bit outdated, and it was no longer drawing in the crowds.
That is why you will no longer be able to travel back in time to help Dr. Seeker rescue an Iguanodon. Instead, this Disney ride is closing permanently as it is making way for an exciting new ride. The new ride will be an Indiana Jones ride, and it will be located in the new Pueblo Esperanza land, according to AllEars.Net. The new land will also feature scenes from the film Encanto. Additionally, it will have one of the largest quick-service restaurants in Disney World. You can expect to experinece this land in 2027.
More On The Rides Closing
Next on our list of Disney rides that are closed for 2026, we have Hollywood Studios' Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. I will admit that I was honestly surprised by this closure. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster was always one of my favorites. It was a thrilling roller coaster ride with a high-speed take off, lots of twists and turns, and even some wild upside-down loops. Also, all of this happened while Aerosmith songs were blasting in your ears. It was honestly so fun. Alas, all good things must come to an end. You have until March 2 of this year to enjoy the attraction before it closes. Afterward, it will be transformed into Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
Finally, the last of the three Disney rides to close for the 2026 year is the Wildlife Express Train. This open-air train is located in Animal Kingdom and transports park guests from Africa to the Conservation Station. It is a peaceful seven-minute train ride that shows you excitign behind the scenes views of the Kilimanjaro Safaris. Luckily, this ride is just closing for refurbishment. AllEars.Net shared that it will close on February 23rd and is expected to reopen sometime in the summer of 2026.
What Attraction Is Closing As Well?
In addition to these three Disney rides being closed in 2026, a beloved attraction will also be closing. The Animation Station at Animal Kingdom's Conservation Station is such an underrated experience. You get to take a class with a Disney artist who teaches you how to draw a beloved Disney character step by step. It is a great activity for the entire family and so wholesome.
Unfortunatley, if you have never done it, you may have missed your chance. This attraction will be closing on February 23rd as well to make room for the new Bluey experience. The new experience is set to open up tin he summer of 2026.
