Nomad Traveler Shares Her Tips For Cheap Travel

A nomadic traveler shared her tips for cheap travel. Influencer Ombeline Daragon regularly travels the world, living out of her backpack for the last five years.

She left home with just $2,000 to her name. Since then, the 27-year-old traveler has been to more than 32 countries. She's picked up multiple odd jobs, such as a farm hand, chef, and even as an author. She says the first day in a new country can set the tone for the entire trip.

"After five years of living out of a backpack, I've learned that the first 24 hours in a new country can either be a dream or total disaster," Daragon told CreatorZine. "Whether you're heading into a bustling city or a remote coastal town, these are my non-negotiable rules for landing on your feet without the unnecessary stress."

Nomad Traveler Speaks Out

The nomad traveler also shared some tips for travelers. For one, download offline Google Maps so you know where you're going.

"Never rely solely on airport Wi-Fi," Daragon advised. "Before you even board your flight, download the offline Google Map for your destination."

She also suggests getting an e-sim as well.

""It gets me through that crucial first day with immediate access to maps, translation apps, and ride-hailing services," said Dragon. "It's peace of mind in a digital packet."

Consider pre-booking your travel as well from the airport to save on money.

"It's safer, the price is fixed, and you avoid the 'tourist tax' right out of the gate," explained Daragon.

The nomad traveler also suggested always clicking no on the conversion when withdrawing money. "Let your own bank handle the conversion, you'll get a much better rate and keep more money in your pocket for the fun stuff," Daragon added.

With that in mind, happy travels to your next destination.
