Disneyland Employees Rushed to the Hospital Over a Hazmat Situation at Park

Disneyland got more excitement than it bargained for after seven employees were hospitalized due to a hazmat situation. The Anaheim Fire Department confirmed the situation.

So what happened? Well, according to reports, seven employees developed symptoms after noticing an odor at the park. Department spokesperson Matt Sutter told the Daily Mail that they noticed the smell around noon. The Disneyland employees had been in a backstage area at the Star Tours ride.

They soon began experiencing minor pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness. A Disney representative believes the building material being used caused the reaction. The park had been doing some contract work in the area. This caused a reaction in the confined space. Paramedics additionally treated others at the Disneyland park.

According to the LA Times, the fire department "said four employees were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but Disneyland officials later said seven had been transported for evaluation. Several other employees were treated by paramedics at the park, according to Disneyland officials."

Disneyland Incident

No guests were injured. Out of caution, the park cleared the nearby onstage areas from guests while they handled the situation. Star Tours is a Star Wars attraction in Tomorrowland at the park. This is not the first incident to happen in recent months at Disneyland. A couple claimed a massive tree fell on them at the park while they were outside the Plaza Inn restaurant.

LeWanda and Mark Joseph claim the tree fell on them during a Lady and the Tramp photo opportunity.

"That was the one photo we really wanted to do," LeWanda told the outlet. "Like two seconds after my husband sat down, he heard the tree snap. I just felt it, and I screamed."

"My husband and I were the ones hit," LeWanda Joseph wrote in the comments of the Disneyland Magic Keyholders Facebook group. "The tree fell directly on top of us."
