Top 6 Tikka Rifles Worth Buying Before Hunting Season

Ever since the first Tikka rifles were manufactured in their original Finland factory more than 100 years ago, the popular brand from Sako has built an undeniable reputation for both quality and accuracy in hunting rifles. Now owned by Beretta, the firearms manufacturer still offers a nice variety of mid-priced and higher-end guns, all of which offer quality, durability, and minimal weight. While Tikka has been around for over a century, their rifles have experienced a recent surge in popularity among hunters looking for top-notch rifles that are still within a reasonable budget. However, not only are there a bunch to pick from, but they're often hard to find, too, as many firearms retailers don't even carry them. So, today we'll highlight a few of our favorite precision rifles Tikka has to offer, all of which would serve you well next hunting season.

Tikka T3x Superlite

If you're in the market for light and durable, look no further. The Superlite rifles are the ideal firearm for rough backcountry adventures where you're planning to put on some miles to find your quarry. By employing a black polymer synthetic stock, Tikka managed to trim down below 6 pounds, which is considerably lighter than the average hunting rifle. If you consider what a successful backcountry hunt looks like, you should find relief knowing you can get a head start in cutting down weight before loading your pack with your harvested buck or bull and trekking back to camp. Its matte stainless steel finish is fit to handle anything Mother Nature decides to throw at you without your gun taking on damage, too. This rifle checks all the boxes for ergonomics just as well, with a modular stock that offers the ability to change the angle of the pistol grip. The Superlite features a fluted barrel and a widened ejection port for efficient cycling, as well as a metallic bolt shroud to protect the firing pin. You can choose from a variety of calibers, including .308 Winchester, 7mm Remington Magnum, .243 Winchester, .270 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, 6.5 Creedmoor, and more.

Tikka T3 Hunter

While Tikka has built its reputation via lightweight bolt-action rifles, they do abandon the synthetic stock and dabble in the classic aesthetic here and there. The T3 Hunter dons a a matte oiled walnut stock and a classic blued finish on the barrel. Chambered in classic calibers like .243 Winchester and .270 WSM, it's not only a beauty to look at, but a fine rifle for whitetail deer hunting applications. Each comes drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and weight about 7 pounds. While it's a little heavier than many of Tikka's ultralight offerings, they're some of the more affordable rifles in the their lineup, and still fairly light for a wood-stock gun. If you're looking for an affordable, attractive rifle that performs at long-range, this is a go-to.

Tikka T1X MTR

While known for centerfire rifles, Tikka does produce an excellent bolt-action rimfire rifle in the T1X MTR. Chambered in both .22 long rifle and .17 HMR, this rifle mimics many of its centerfire cousins, but in a more compact package. It's a great option for younger hunters who need to learn about gun safety before hitting the deer woods, while also serving as an elite small-game rifle. It features a stainless steel bolt, and the magazine for each model can take up to 10 rounds of ammunition. It also uses a modular stock that works with many of the T3X accessories. A crisp trigger pull to top it all off should guarantee you an effective firearm for chasing rabbits, squirrels, or prairie dogs.

Tikka T3x Hunter

This Tikka T3x rifle has many of the same features as the Superlite but is geared more towards hunters looking for that classic wood look in their hunting rifle. No doubt about it, this gun is a looker that is sure to turn heads at hunting camp. Barrel lengths vary between 22 and 24 inches for excellent accuracy and the company offers this rifle in a bevy of caliber options including .300 Winchester Magnum, 7mm Rem mag, 7mm-08 Remington and more. Tikka also produces left hand models of each caliber so southpaws don't feel left out of the chance to get a great-looking and accurate rifle in the caliber of their choosing. Many users report this gun shoots sub MOA groups at the range straight out of the box. Impressive stuff and it makes it a gun to consider for shooters who really like their firearms to have tight groupings.

Tikka T3x Tac A1

Tikka calls this rifle their "game changer" and it is easy to see why. This rifle takes some of the top tactical features from semi-auto sporting platforms and incorporates them into a highly adjustable and accurate bolt-action firearm. Tikka built in an M-lok forend for mounting accessories, an AR-style pistol grip, aluminum bedding, a modular folding stock, picatinny rails for the optic of your choice, a steel recoil lug and a generous recoil pad to make even heavier rounds a breeze to shoot. They included length of pull spacers to adjust the fit of this gun to better fit any body type. The muzzle is also already threaded. The barrels are cold hammer forged and the double stage trigger is adjustable. This is one of the more expensive options Tikka offers, but you can rest assured knowing you are getting your money's worth for an accurate, long range rifle with tons of customization options.
