Tikka Rifles: 6 of the Best That Are Worth Your Hard-Earned Money

Tikka rifles are some of the most accurate on the market.

Ever since the first Tikka rifles were manufactured in their original Finland factory more than 100 years ago, the popular brand from Sako has built a reputation for quality and accuracy in hunting rifles that is hard to beat. Tikka is now owned by Beretta. Which means they still offer a nice variety of mid-priced and higher end guns for anyone looking for a new rifle that is lightweight, durable and of the upmost quality.

Today we'll highlight some of the top precision rifle offerings from Tikka to consider for the upcoming hunting seasons.

Tikka T3x Superlite

For hunters looking for light and durable, it doesn't get much better than the Superlite. These rifles are ideal for rough backcountry adventures where you must hike in a considerable distance after your quarry. Thanks to the black polymer synthetic stock, Tikka was able to trim the weight down to under six pounds for these guns, which is simply wild to think about. That's one way to negate some of the weight of your heavy pack and the meat from that big buck or bull on the way back to camp. The matte stainless steel finish is going to help these guns stand up to whatever harsh weather nature decides to throw at you. These guns feature modular stocks that allow you change the angle on the pistol grips. These guns also have fluted barrels and widened ejection ports for easier cycling. The rifle also offers excellent protection for the firing pin and rear of the bolt thanks to a metallic bolt shroud. This gun is offered in several popular calibers including .308 Winchester, 7mm Remington Magnum, .243 Winchester, .270 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, 6.5 Creedmoor and more.

Tikka T3 Hunter

While Tikka has built up their name as a builder of lightweight bolt action rifles with mostly synthetic stocks in recent years, they do build a few rifles with more of a classic feel. The T3 Hunter has a matte oiled walnut stock and a classic blued finish. It is chambered in classic calibers like .243 Winchester and .270 WSM that are going to be perfect for deer hunting purposes. These rifles are already drilled and tapped for scope mounts. At seven pounds they are a little heavier than some of the other options by Tikka, but they are also some of the most affordable rifles the company makes. If you're looking for a good entry point to their rifles, this isn't a bad choice. User reviews rave about the accuracy of this gun at long range.

Tikka T1X MTR

Tikka is known for their centerfire offerings, but they also build a great bolt action rimfire rifle in the T1X MTR too. Chambered in both .22 long rifle and .17 HMR, this rifle has many of the same features of some of their larger caliber centerfire offerings, just in a more compact and lighter recoil package. The T1X MTR might be a good choice to help train younger hunters in the basics of gun safety and handling before moving them up to a larger caliber for big game. This gun features a stainless steel bolt and the magazines for both models hold 10 rounds of ammo. The stock is modular. That means it works with a lot of the accessories built for the T3x line. This one gets high marks from users for its crisp trigger pull. This would be a great option for rabbits, squirrels and other small varmints.

Tikka T3x Hunter

This Tikka T3x rifle has many of the same features as the Superlite but is geared more towards hunters looking for that classic wood look in their hunting rifle. No doubt about it, this gun is a looker that is sure to turn heads at hunting camp. Barrel lengths vary between 22 and 24 inches for excellent accuracy and the company offers this rifle in a bevy of caliber options including .300 Winchester Magnum, 7mm Rem mag, 7mm-08 Remington and more. Tikka also produces left hand models of each caliber so southpaws don't feel left out of the chance to get a great-looking and accurate rifle in the caliber of their choosing. Many users report this gun shoots sub MOA groups at the range straight out of the box. Impressive stuff and it makes it a gun to consider for shooters who really like their firearms to have tight groupings.

Tikka T3x Tac A1

Tikka calls this rifle their "game changer" and it is easy to see why. This rifle takes some of the top tactical features from semi-auto sporting platforms and incorporates them into a highly adjustable and accurate bolt-action firearm. Tikka built in an M-lok forend for mounting accessories, an AR-style pistol grip, aluminum bedding, a modular folding stock, picatinny rails for the optic of your choice, a steel recoil lug and a generous recoil pad to make even heavier rounds a breeze to shoot. They included length of pull spacers to adjust the fit of this gun to better fit any body type. The muzzle is also already threaded. The barrels are cold hammer forged and the double stage trigger is adjustable. This is one of the more expensive options Tikka offers, but you can rest assured knowing you are getting your money's worth for an accurate, long range rifle with tons of customization options.

Tikka T3x Lite

Tikka Rifles

This rifle has many of the same features of some of the other Tikka rifles we have highlighted here today. It has the modular stock with interchangeable pistol grips, the foam insert for noise reduction in the stock and the recoil pad, and their metallic bolt shroud and steel recoil lug. Tikka got the weight down under six pounds, which makes it an ideal backcountry gun. They offer this gun in a variety of finishes and styles. You can go with a simple plain black and blued finish or something in a camo finish. While they make 22 and 24-inch barrels, they also offer a more compact option with a 20-inch barrel. The company chambers this one in popular offerings like .223 Remington, 22-250 Remington, .300 Win Mag, and 204 Ruger.
