5 Songs About Cars on Our Driving Playlist

These are the songs about cars that made it to the top of our list.

The right song, at the right time, can make your evening car ride even better.

To me, there's nothing greater than the sounds of a rock song with the windows down and the speedometer rising. Music and cars were just meant to go together.

Of course, there's a good amount of songs about cars that could make a playlist or two worthy of a road trip. With that in mind, here's five we will always appreciate, no matter what wheel we're behind.

Sammy Hagar - "I Can't Drive 55"

This one is almost too easy to include. It really speaks to you when you're in a traffic jam.

We've all been there: When we see that open road in front of you and your right foot starts getting a little heavier...

War - "Low Rider"

If you drive a car that's lowered, there's no better song to cruise slow and low to.

Rolling down main street with this song on 10, is there anything better?

Kathy Mattea - "455 Rocket"

Trash talking other cars before a race? Kathy really got the culture of bench racing in a parking lot.

If you haven't heard this song, I highly recommend it. It'll make you want to look for that 1/4 mile straight away just to see what your car can do.

Beach Boys - "Little Deuce Coupe"

This is an iconic song that gets played at a lot of car shows over the speakers. It's about a guy talking up his car to others and warning them that he'll beat them because, well, "You don't know what I got!"

This is the song for those who like bragging about their car.

Jan & Dean - Dead Man's Curve

We picked "Dead Man's Curve," not for any sort of morbidity, but because it's a reminder of what can happen with street racing.

You've got to be careful out there. At any moment, you could end up in the hospital. It is a great song, and fun to listen to on a windy, mountainous drive.
