A 28-year-old skydiver has died. The tragic incident happened in Massachusetts. On July 12, a 28-year-old skydiver died at Jumptown Skydiving in Orange.
Mani Chandra Teja Gaddam fell to his death. He hit the ground from 30 feet in the air after a sudden gust of wind caught his parachute and interfered with his landing. Sadly, he passed away at Athol Hospital from his injuries.
Following his death, the skydiving company told local NBC station WBTS that weather played a role in the death of the skydiver.
"We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred at our facility and extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the skydiver involved," the statement read. "A sudden and unpredictable weather event appears to have caused the incident, and we are fully cooperating with the appropriate authorities as they conduct a thorough review. Out of respect for the investigative process and those affected, we will not comment further while the review is ongoing."
Skydiver Dies
"The safety of our customers, staff, and fellow skydivers remains our highest priority," the company continued.
"On the afternoon of October 4, there was a midair collision between two experienced skydivers," Jumptown said in a statement to WBZ. "The injured jumper landed on airport property under a fully functioning parachute."
He had been a skydiving expert with more than 5,000 jumps. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of both and their friends during this tragic time.
