When Can-Am showed us their new Commander Mossy Oak Hunting Edition side-by-side, we were itching to get behind the wheel. Mossy Oak brought us out to Pike County, Illinois, where several companies connected to the camo brand gathered at the Heartland Lodge for a media event.
A beautiful Heartland location, incredible off-road vehicle trails, and a beast of a UTV. What more could you ask for?
Lo and behold, the things was a blast to drive, and we didn't really want to stop. The handling was as good as you can ask for, the 27-inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires ripped through anything we could drive it over, and never once did we feel unsafe or exposed. The Commander's inherent stability and control made it a really steady ride, and we even cruised around with some fragile equipment in the bed's bottom compartment. Nothing jostled too much, and everything was intact when we were through.
Obviously, the Mossy Oak Break Up Country pattern made it look the part, but this isn't only a hunter's side-by-side. It can serve all the purposes of a working UTV, on the ranch, the beach, or really just about anywhere.
