Fisherman sets new gag grouper record off the coast of North Carolina.

A fisherman who fished off the coast of Wrightsville, N.C., landed the new state gag grouper record.

The behemoth caught by Breece Gahl on May 20 weighted a whopping 47 pounds, 6 ounces.

The fish measured at 48-inches long and boasted a 26-inch girth according to WECT.

This record will displace the previous record that weighed 46 pounds. That gag grouper was caught off of Ocean Isle Beach.
