Zombie Raccoons Invade Youngstown, Ohio
Raccoons are acting strange in Youngstown, Ohio.
For some reason, raccoons in the Buckeye State are menacing both people and pets in broad daylight.
These raccoons are acting especially and aggressive, as locals have spotted them showing teeth and standing up on their hind legs to face off with people and pets. Then, they just fall over backwards.
Photographer Robert Coggeshall took these great photos and shared his encounter with one of these "zombie raccoons" on Facebook. As you can see, this raccoon isn't acting normal in the slightest.
So far, Youngstown Police have had to dispatch at least 15 raccoons displaying this zombie-like condition. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources reports that it's most likely a spread of distemper rather than a feared rabies outbreak.
If you come across any animal behaving oddly, be sure to notify officials immediately. Stay away from the sick animals and keep your children and pets away from them, too!
