Nick the Wrangler may have just debunked a common belief on the rattlesnake.
If you took a poll on what would be the worst thing to crawl on your lap while taking a breather in the woods, I am pretty sure the results would have some common answers, and there would be one near the top of all lists: A rattlesnake.
After sitting down to take a breather, Nick the Wrangler has a very unexpected guest crawl from the nearest bush. How he stayed calm, I will never understand, but it might be enough proof to show us that a rattlesnake isn't as aggressive as we think and they won't bite if not threatened.
Watch this insane encounter.
Proof that Rattlesnakes don't want to bite. It's one thing when you approach them because they feel threatened, but when they approach you, it's a whole different story. This was either good or bad timing. What an experience. For more pictures and videos check out my Instagram/YouTube @ Nickthewrangler

It is hard to watch this video and not have an anxiety attack. I love snakes and have been bitten multiple times (obviously not by a rattler, but by others). I can't imagine how someone who is deathly terrified of them would feel watching this intense encounter. Sweaty palms, trouble breathing, and trying not to scream, I can assume.
Now...try to imagine actually being the person with the snake on your lap. I mean, really think about that.
Like I said, I can't even fathom how he stayed this calm and why the snake did not strike. I just pray I never find myself in this situation while turkey hunting in Texas or something.
But, it might be enough information to show that if you stay calm, you will be safe.
