A 23-year-old Boca Raton woman was bitten by a small nurse shark and went to the hospital with the shark still attached to her arm.
A woman whose name was not released was taken to Boca Raton Regional Hospital with a small nurse shark attached to her arm in one of the strangest shark-bite cases yet.
On Sunday May 15, 2016 the 23-year-old was swimming when a two-foot nurse shark decided to take a taste of the woman's arm. While the woman was in stable condition at the hospital she still had to endure the fact that the shark, now dead, was still a part of her arm!
A bystander had killed the shark during the incident, but the tooth-ridden fish seemed to be a permanent fixture on the poor woman's skin. While nurse sharks have razor sharp teeth they are not known for launching unprovoked attacks on swimmers.
Luckily for one woman in Florida with an amazing story to tell, nurse shark's teeth don't penetrate very far into a person's flesh; at least not in the way that this will penetrate into this woman's personal life for a while.
