Swimming Tarantulas Actually Exist, Confirmed By This Video Shot in Texas

Were you aware tarantulas could be even creepier?

Leave it to the tarantula to make us squirm a little more at the thought of an already-creepy crawler.

Those of you who are arachnophobes may want to skip over this video.

For the rest of you, play it at your own risk.

The short clip was filmed in Big Bend State Park, a West Texas gem filled with wildlife. It was then shared by Big Bend's Texas Parks and Wildlife Facebook page. It's a popular place for hikers, campers, and wilderness lovers, who inherently know if they're going to enjoy the outdoors in the Lone Star State, there are some things to watch out for.

We can honestly say we didn't know these critters could crawl across the water's surface that way. Their eight legs served as paddles and it's really a miraculous work of nature.

If you were swimming in this spot, and saw a giant tarantula scurrying across the surface of the water towards you, would you be freaking out or could you hold your own?

Have you ever seen a tarantula? Was it on or near a large body of water?

Arachnids are a fascinating thing, and a swimming tarantula just confirms our suspicions: creepy crawlies never cease to amaze.
