What happens when anglers in China come face-to-face with a mysterious sea creature?
Check out the video to find out the reaction when it happened near Zhoushan in eastern China.
Did you get a load of that critter? I don't know any form of the Chinese language, but at least one of the voices had to say, "What the heck is that?"
The Chinese fishermen are more brave than I am. When faced with that beak and its two giant growths, they try to get a better look, gently moving it with a stick. I'm sure I would have been furiously moving my boat away from it.
Turns out, though, the sea creature isn't "unknown." Biologists are saying it's a beaked whale. Humans normally don't see the whale, because it lives in deep waters. It dives below 1,500 feet for its food.
And the two growths? Teeth, which apparently are attractive to females of the species.
