It's easy to forget why drones are such an innovation, but the feeding frenzy of these tiger sharks captured on film is tragic and incredible.
Two boatloads of tourists near Australia's Shark Bay were front and center for an incredible display of Mother Nature, About 70 tiger sharks were feasting on a whale, turning the clear waters red. The footage was filmed from above via drone.
As Discovery News points out, "the footage showed the sharks ripping the giant humpback whale carcass to shreds, leaving a trail of crimson water."
The nature guide service, Eco Abrolhos Cruises, noticed the spectacle and set up the drone to record the entire display. While it isn't pretty, it does remind us that the natural world is dog-eat-dog to survive.
The area recorded is a World Heritage-listed area known for its huge marine animals, like whales, sharks, and turtles.
