The Squirminator isn't a traditional fly, but it does a hell of a job at catching fish.
If you're a purist only uses natural materials for flies, this fly is not for you. But if you don't mind a nontraditional fly and are looking for something durable that can catch fish with repeated use, try the Squirminator. Mentioning the name alone makes trout tremble with fear.
The fly is made entirely out of advanced man-made materials. To build it, you'll have to visit your local toy store and pick up a Googly worm or a similar tentacled, rubbery toy like this one.
This video from Tightline Productions teaches how to tie the Squirminator step by step. Tightline Productions always does a knock up job with their fly-tying videos and this one is no exception.
