Check out one man’s version of the log cutter/wood splitter all-in-one.
Here’s an idea that’s been around for some time: a machine mounted saw that can cut your firewood then drop it into a trough to be split.
This bad-boy has all that and even a an extra horizontal splitter wedge for the bigger pieces.
You’ve got to love the ‘conning tower’ style wedge that pops up for the bigger logs. It seems like a great idea as long as you’re not trying to cut off anything much bigger than seen in the video.
The old school saw mill style blade is dynamite on the stuff that he put in there and it could have taken care of much bigger logs, but without seeing him try it on the larger stuff it’s hard to tell how big it can go.
One thing is for sure, when we can make one as good as this guy we can decide what we can cut with it for ourselves.
