There’s Still Time to Enter Badlands Annual Film Festival

Professional or amateur, it doesn’t matter, throw your video into the 2017 Badlands Annual Film Festival to try for some amazing prizes.

The Badlands Hunting Film Festival takes place during the ATA Show in January. This will be the fourth consecutive year Badlands have held the event as it continues to grow in popularity.

Industry professionals and amateurs alike submit videos for the chance to win cool prizes. All videos are put to a vote, and winners are chosen by their peers in attendance.

I was lucky enough to attend last year’s event in Louisville, KY, at the Palace Theatre. It was extremely fun and the videos ranged from serious to downright hilarious.

The 2017 ATA Show will be back in Indianapolis, IN and the film festival will follow.

There is still time to enter if you are interested. You can choose between two categories: Feature Film and Short Film.

Rules for Filming

Feature films must be around 5-7 minutes long with a maximum of 10 minutes. Short film submissions must be at least 2 minutes long with a max of 4 minutes run time.

Either category much be shot in HD and available in mp4 or .avi formats.

What you decide to film is up to you. It can be a serious hunting video or just something fun like a parody. Just has to be outdoor/hunting related.

With Garmin and a lot of other great sponsors this year the prizes are pretty sweet.

  • Garmin Fenix 3 HR Watch
  • Miscellaneous Prizes

2nd Place

  • $1,000 Cash

Video Submission

If you decide to enter, you must have you video submitted by December 19, 2016. There are two ways to submit your film:

Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo. Attach the video link in an email and send it to [email protected]

You can also mail a hard copy saved to a flash drive or SD card to them. You can get the address here.

All in all, whether you win or not, the experience as a whole is worth it. If you don’t want to submit a video, I highly recommend at least attending. See some awesome videos and maybe even walk out with some cool swag from the various sponsors.

For more information about video submissions view Badlands official guide on their website.
