SilencerCo and ‘The Suppressed’ declare, “Guns don’t have to be loud.”
SilencerCo is one of the companies leading the charge in changing opinions about gun suppressors or silencers.
Most people, gun enthusiasts included, probably have preconceived notions about silencers. We’ve tended to view gun suppressors as accessories that only covert operators and assassins use. That’s unfortunate, and not necessarily true or fair.
Gunfire can result in hearing damage if proper precautions, like the use of ear plugs, aren’t practiced. Ear plugs, however, aren’t practical when hunting. If it’s possible to shoot with less noise in the field – risking hearing damage, alerting game, or harshly disrupting the moment – why wouldn’t we?
“Fight the Noise” is the motto of the growing suppressor acceptance movement, and SilencerCo says that just because shooting has always been loud, well, that “doesn’t mean that’s the way it should be.”
To that end, SilencerCo is conducting a series of events across America – their Quiet Riot US Tour – to educate shooters on the benefits of using suppressors. Folks will get a chance to examine, ask questions, and shoot guns with suppressors to really “hear” the difference. They’ll also be able to purchase SilencerCo suppressors at the events.
SilencerCo is also not only seeking to change minds but to change law as well. Suppressors are legal but the additional paperwork, taxation and processing time involved in their use is unnecessarily burdensome.
The company is asking for your help in adding your voice to lobbying for more sensible legislation concerning suppressors. As a thank you for participating you’ll be added to their monthly give-away drawings to win suppressors. You can learn more at the link below.
