The caracal is a cunning and agile hunter. Watching it catch an airborne bird is amazing.
What this “desert lynx” does to catch its prey has to be seen.
The caracal is a wild cat that is native to the continent of Africa, Central and Southwest Asia, and as far east as India. Roughly the size of a bobcat, these members of the lynx family are capable of knocking down 10 birds or more on a single attack.
Caracal’s generally prey on rodents, hares and other small mammals, but will not hesitate to take game larger than themselves such as springbok or kudu.
