An Israeli backpacker in Australia got the scare of his life when an aggressive saltwater crocodile almost bit his arm off.
Determined to get his picture taken with a saltwater crocodile, Novon Mashiah decided to pose while extending his arm as he leaned over the back of the boat.
Mashiah and his friend Doron Aviguy had completed their national service to the Israeli Army and were in Australia working as fishermen. Aviguy was the one taking the pictures when the "saltie" attacked, after closing in on the unsuspecting Mashiah.
"I began playing with it for a photo," the shocked Mashiah said.
As the photo shows, crocs possess incredible speed and agility.
"I was pointing at it when it suddenly jumped up at me--I didn't realize that crocs were so aggressive," added the stunned man.
It's believed that the croc was probably looking for a free handout of fish, but almost got Mr. Mashiah instead.
