This clip will really take you back as Ronnie Van Zant talks about 'Freebird' and Fishing while sitting out on the water.

Even if you are not a fan of southern rock, you've heard some Lynyrd Skynyrd at some point. Ronnie Van Zant is the original lead singer of the band and the man who is mainly responsible for the whole thing coming together. Unfortunately Ronnie was killed in the tragic plane crash in October of 1977 along with fellow band members Steve and Cassie Gaines.

It is fairly well known that most of the members of the band are from Jacksonville, Florida and grew up in the outdoors but there's still something quite peaceful about watching Ronnie Van Zant sit in a boat and talk "Freebird" and fishing.

The song "Freebird" has become one of the most loved songs of all time and it's amazingly fitting to have this interview of Ronnie talking about the song and its origins while sitting on the lake and throwing out a line. It shows the simple man that he was and really what the idea of "Freebird" is all about.
