Residents of Davis, California, have a problem with wildlife roaming the streets. They're calling 911 for help.
The rampaging critters? Turkeys.
Seems that about 100 of the birds have taken over the streets of the city, and they don't seem to care about vehicles driving down the road. And they really don't care if humans are around.
Some of the calls Davis 911 has received involved people being "trapped" or chased by the turkeys. Another group of the birds hang out in a city cemetery, seemingly thumbing their beaks at the idea of death. Even in November, when turkey is the main dish on the menu.
However, the turkeys are in for a rude awakening.
The Davis City Council recently approved a plan to help deal with the turkeys. Some will be captured and relocated. Others will be "put down."
