Remington Consolidates Several Manufacturing Plants to Alabama

Remington is gathering several scattered manufacturing facilities from around the country to its new plant in Alabama.

Remington Outdoor Company has announced a consolidation effort, essentially gathering eight of its national operating facilities and moving them to Huntsville, Alabama, where it recently moved into a former Chrysler building.

The move is being called "a strategic business decision" by Remington spokespeople and is intended to improve efficiency and quality.

The facilities planned to move are: Advanced Armament Corp. in Lawrence, Georgia; Montana Rifleman in Kilispell, Montana; Tapco in Kennesaw, Georgia; LAR Manufacturing in West Jordan, Utah; Para-Ordnance in Pineville, North Carolina; DPMS in St. Cloud, Minnesota; the Bushmaster and Remington 1911 production lines in Ilion, New York; and a research and development facility in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Remington is headquartered are in Madison, North Carolina, but plans are also in place to expand the headquarters to Alabama as well.
