Lake Erie can produce a dazzling display of raw power for those willing to sit and take notice. Dave Sandford did just that and came away with these truly stunning images with his camera.
At first glance, these breath-taking photographs appear to showcase the raging waters of one of our vast and unforgiving oceans. Truth be told, these actually depict the 'calmer' waters of Lake Erie, albeit a side that most of us have never witnessed.
Dave Sandford, a photographer from London, Ontario, spent four weeks this November capturing the unbridled power that Lake Erie possesses. The results are breathtaking.
All images were captured from the north shore of Lake Erie, about 150 meters offshore from the town of Port Stanley, Ontario.
And as this image perfectly illustrates, Sandford isn't afraid to immerse himself in his work.
Oh, one last thing. If you plan to fish Lake Erie in November, I suggest you wear a life jacket.
