As you can see, the massive elephant first crushed the front end of the car before flipping it over completely. The passengers were rushed to a hospital and treated for minor wounds, and have since been discharged. According to a spokesman for the Kruger National Park, the male elephant was in a state of heightened sexual tension, making it extremely aggressive. It has since been shot and killed to prevent further attacks.

Elephants encountered during their Musth, or puberty period, are considered extremely aggressive. According to, Musth doesn’t usually carry with it physical features that can be readily observed, making it more difficult to predict when they’re entering their sexual phase.

So the next time you encounter an elephant in the wild, stay clear. You can still observe them from a distance.
