On March 9, 2015 Tuckerton Police were called out to the scene of a raccoon that appeared to have his head stuck in a tree.
Residents noticed the furry critter struggling in the tree at the corner of Marine Street and Otis Avenue and called the police hoping for its rescue.
The responding officers then called in retired State Conservation Officer Lt. Wayne Tonnesen to come and check out the scene.
Tonnesen responded to the scene, along with Tuckerton Fire Company's rescue truck.
Tonnesen went up the tree and found that the raccoon appeared to be awake and unharmed.
Tonnesen initally tried to free the raccoon by hand but was unable to free the trapped raccoon.
Tonnesen could not manage to free him by hand and had to resort to using an air chisel to make the hole larger.
