Potential Record Rainbow Trout Caught

Global Writes

You won't believe the size of this potential record rainbow trout!

Angler Michael J. Sadar caught and released a rainbow trout that measured an incredible 30 inches long while fishing Saskatchewan's Lake Diefenbaker Oct. 11. The Canadian lake is infamous for producing some of the world's biggest rainbow trout.

It took Sadar about 15 minutes to reel in the monster after hooking it with a live cisco. If Sadar's documentation checks out with the IFGA, he'll hold the new world record, beating the current record holders caught in Michigan and Oregon in 2011 and 2013.
