Deer scouting is one of our favorite pastimes and here’s why.
A couple of deer hunters out looking for after-season sheds found the spot where they just might want to put their next treestand.
When you’re out looking for sheds you’re also deer scouting, but you already knew that. It’s never a bad time to get outside and walk through your favorite deer woods. Right when you have your eyes scanning the ground for those elusive sheds, several deer have seen you, heard you, and most likely winded you.
Some of the best deer scouting of the year comes after the season. Once they’ve returned to their normal daylight routines, areas where deer are “yarding” up will be a great place to look for sheds and produce a spot for a stand during next year’s hunt.
