This pistol-wielding grandma didn't appreciate it when an intruder tried to enter her house.
74-year-old Rebbie Robertson was just sitting down to watch the evening news in her house in Bowie County, Texas when she saw a masked man attempting to break into her house. The man got the shock of his life when she picked up a .38 caliber revolver and pointed it at him as he entered her house in northeast Texas.
The pistol-wielding grandma fired several shots at the man and gave chase as he ran out of her home.
According to Robertson:
I didn't know if he was going to kill me or what. I reached over there and grabbed this gun. And when I swerved around, I pointed it at him, and he ran... I'm not sure I didn't hit him. I don't know yet. I sure tried. I sure was hoping.
Unfortunately, the man got away. Police are currently searching for suspects and say that the intruder did not appear to be injured in the encounter.
Luckily for Ms. Robertson, she got the scare of her life, but was otherwise unharmed. Good thing she had a good self-defense handgun handy. Otherwise, that might not have turned out well for her.
That just goes to show all the criminals out there: be careful who you target in Texas (or any other state with lots of gun owners). You just might get more than you bargained for in the form of a pistol-wielding grandma.
