The reality TV star was hit with illegal gun and drug charges during a warrant search.
Chumlee, from the History Channel's popular show Pawn Stars, has been arrested on multiple felonies, including a charge for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
The 33-year-old's real name is Austin Lee Russell, but goes by the nickname "Chumlee" and serves as something of a comic relief character in the popular reality TV show set in Las Vegas' Gold & Silver Pawn Shop that has run since 2009. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports police were actually working on a sexual assault investigation when they served the warrant at his house.
While Russell has not been charged with sexual assault, he was arrested on a single felony charge of possessing a gun by a prohibited person. It was not stated what kind of firearm was found or how many. At this time, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports it's not exactly clear why Russell would not be allowed to possess a firearm.
But the felony firearms charge wasn't the only thing Russell was brought in for. During the warrant search, police found methamphetamine and marijuana as well. He's facing an additional 19 drug possession charges.
Fox411 News reports Russell posted a $62,000 bail and was due in court Friday morning.
While History Channel and his publicist Laura Herlovich haven't commented on the arrest yet, his co-star and boss, Rick Harrison of Gold & Silver Pawn did comment to Fox 411 News.
"We don't have the details yet, but we are here to help Chumlee any way we can," Harrison told the station in an email.
