A Scottish tourist on a cruise boat near Parga, Greece captured pictures of a strange sea monster in the unusual green waters of the Mediterranean.
Harvey Robertson and his family were on a boat cruise south of Albania, on the west coast of Greece exploring a sea cave when he took several random photographs of the water. Upon closer inspection, he realized that a strange image had appeared in one of the frames.
Robertson said: "I caught the picture by accident. I was trying to capture the water color and was not looking at the water, the flash went off. I only saw the creature when looking back through my pics."
The pictures that he captured have taken the internet by storm and baffled even veteran marine scientists. The animal is said to resemble a longer, thinner manatee, and even a cross between a hippo and a crocodile.
The mystery creature can be easily seen in one photo, and then disappears into the creamy-green waters almost completely.
Some have speculated that it could be a Cuvier's beaked whale, which are not uncommon in the Mediterranean.
Robertson admitted, "I have no idea what it could have been, I have never seen anything like it"
What's your guess on this mysterious Greek sea creature? We're stumped, too.
