Mossy Oak is introducing a pattern specifically targeted at mountain hunters.
For anyone who has ever hunted in the mountains, you've probably noticed some commercial camo patterns don't quite fit for the vegetation and terrain up in higher elevation areas.
Mossy Oak apparently felt the same way. They've introduced a new camo pattern specially designed for hunting in the mountains.
This definitely looks like a much more fitting pattern for those who like hunting up in the higher elevations. Most patterns these days do seem to be tailored more to the flat lands, farms and dense woodlands than the scrub brush, sage and rocks often present in higher elevations.
This pattern looks like it would have been a perfect fit for the high desert country when I lived in northwest Wyoming for a while. My other patterns, which are darker and more forested in nature, work great here in southwest Michigan, but they would have probably stuck out like a sore thumb there.
Perhaps it was just a matter of time before camo companies thought to make more regional-based patterns. What works great in central Illinois might make you stick out like a sore thumb in Colorado and vice-versa. It makes total sense from a tactical hunting standpoint as well as a business one. After all, not every hunter pursues their quarry in the same areas or types of terrain.
