The 2017 SHOT Show will open with the State of the Industry Dinner on 17 January 2017, and, as a special treat to guests, Mike Rowe will be the host.
Always held on the opening night of the SHOT Show, the State of the Industry Dinner is typically one of the show’s most popular events each year. Well, the National Shooting Sports Foundation just announced that Mike Rowe will be the host of the 2017 State of the Industry Dinner.
The State of the Industry Dinner recognizes many of the noteworthy accomplishments of the shooting industry during the preceding year and addresses challenges on the horizon. The so-called “Dirtiest Man on TV” is a great choice to host the State of the Industry Dinner. He has recently made a name for himself in the shooting and hunting communities for his frank talk regarding gun control and his unabashed love of this country.
Mike initially gained fame while hosting the TV show Dirty Jobs, where he paid tribute to the hardworking men and women who make our civilized lives possible. He is currently the CEO of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity., where he challenges the conventional thinking that a four-year university degree is automatically the best path for all people.
Instead, mikeroweWORKS Foundation provides financial assistance to men and women attempting to earn a technical or vocational education and has granted more than $3 million in scholarships for trade schools across the country.
So, make sure you mark your calendars for 17 January, because it’s sure to be an event to remember. The cocktail hour starts at 5:30 P.M, and dinner starts at 6:30 P.M.
