Cormorants are a shoreline bird that will nest on trees, cliffs and along the beach. This major nesting colony has beach-front property that they have utilized very well. They even have raised nests to protect against high surf or tide activities.

The cormorant bird prefers the shoreline since it is indeed a fish-eater. It can dive under water to depths reaching 147 feet deep while hunting fish.
