The last elk in this massive elk herd reminds us of why persistence is key in life.
Traffic stopped along a road near Bozeman, Mont. as hundreds of elk made their way across the tarmac. A bystander captured this incredible video of the scene.
The massive elk herd looks like a flowing stream as it crosses the road. Once they get to the other side, the herd returns to an orderly two-by-two march and heads off across a vast snow-covered field. All except for one elk - the last one in the herd had some trouble jumping the fence. It's travelling companions didn't bother to wait up. The poor thing stresses out trying to make the jump, but persists in its endeavor to rejoin the herd. Watch to see what happens. It ends well, we promise.
Montana is home to thousands of elk. The northern section of Yellowstone National Park - a region that covers both Wyoming and Montana - is home to one of the largest elk herds in North America.
