A beekeeper wearing only underpants sets a new Guinness World Record for covering himself with over 1 million bees estimated to weigh 240 pounds.
A 55-year-old Chinese beekeeper named Gao Bingguo set the Guinness World record Monday, May 25 for heaviest bees on the body in Tai'an, China. The previous record before Bingguo was set at 188 pounds.
Reports estimated that he was stung over 2,000 times and that his body temperature rose, at one point, to over 140 degrees.
Fellow beekeepers began the initial process by putting a number of queen bees on various parts of his body to attract "drones," or worker bees. Those assisting Bingguo began to dump large quantities of the bees at his feet until they started to crawl up his body.
The only place they couldn't get was his mouth. Bingguo can be seen smoking a cigarette to keep the bees from swarming on, and stinging, his lips.
Bingguo officially beat the previous record by over 50 pounds, claiming the world record for the heaviest coat of bees on the body.
