Need to put a loop in the end of your fly line? Here’s how to make one.
Welded loops are standard equipment on a lot of fly lines these days. Loops make it easy to connect your leader to your fly line, and easy to change leaders if need be.
But, if your fly line doesn’t come equipped with a loop, or yours becomes damaged, you may want to add one.
You could use a nail knot and perfection loop of heavy mono, but a braided loop makes a cleaner connection. Commercially available fly line loops aren’t expensive, but if you are in to tying your own flies, making your own leaders, and building your own rods, making your own loops is a natural thing.
And, they are easy to make!
