Making a strike indicator is a simple as that. All you need is small rubber O-rings (5/16 inches in diameter), 10 inches of glow bug yarn, forceps, heavy thread, a bobbin threader, and head cement. Depending on the water depth and light environment, make a few different sizes and colors to change out when visibility or the water conditions change.
Strike indicators work best in deep water with long runs, as they give fishermen a better way to keep eye contact on the flies.
